Coffee Hut

Some of the best coffee in any city is found not in destination restaurants or hotel lobbies, but in the neighbourhood spots that know their regulars by name. This small takeaway café was designed around exactly that idea: a local, unhurried place that takes its coffee seriously without taking itself too seriously.
The design language is warm and straightforward. Walnut timber and matte black finishes run consistently from the exterior facade through to the interior joinery, giving the café a coherent, considered character that feels rooted rather than designed. Custom wall shelving, divided into vertical bays, displays traditional Cypriot coffee-making equipment as both functional storage and cultural reference, a quiet acknowledgment of the island's deep relationship with coffee as a daily ritual. A signature black and sage green awning covers the pavement waiting area, framed by climbing plants that soften the street edge and bring a biophilic quality to what is otherwise a compact urban footprint. Most distinctively, a full-width service window opens directly onto the sidewalk, allowing guests to order, pay, and collect without stepping inside. It is a detail that prioritises the guest's time without sacrificing the warmth of the experience, and one that defines the café's character as much as any material choice.
